Allowed & Banned Mods

LibertyCraft is a survival roleplay realm where progression, builds, and PvP outcomes are meant to be earned. Mods that improve performance or visuals are welcome. Mods that hand you information or actions the vanilla game does not are bannable on sight — staff can verify with CoreProtect logs, screen shares, and behavioral patterns.

Rule of thumb: if a mod tells you where ores are, where players are, automates clicks, or lets you do something a vanilla client cannot, it is banned. When in doubt, ask a moderator in Discord before you install it.

✅ Allowed Mods

These are encouraged and will not get you in trouble. They affect your client only — never the server state or other players.

Performance & FPS

Performance mods can take you from 26 FPS to over 1000 FPS Performance mods like Sodium and Lithium can dramatically boost frame rates on the exact same hardware.

  • Sodium — modern rendering engine, massive FPS boost
  • Lithium — server-side tick optimizations (client-safe)
  • Starlight — faster lighting engine
  • FerriteCore — reduces RAM usage
  • Iris — shader loader (use with Sodium)
  • OptiFine — classic FPS + shader support

Visual & Quality of Life

Shaders transform the look of the game without changing gameplay Shaders are 100% allowed — they only change how the world looks on your screen.

Custom builds look stunning with shaders enabled

  • Shaders (BSL, Complementary, SEUS, Sildur's, etc.)
  • Resource packs (Faithful, Bare Bones, any non-cheat texture pack)
  • Zoom mods (OptiFine zoom, Logical Zoom)
  • Dynamic Lights (torches in your hand light the area)
  • Better F3 / coordinate displays — vanilla already shows this
  • Inventory tweaks / sorting
  • Mini-map mods without entity radar or cave mode (see banned list below)
  • Replay Mod — for recording your own builds and events

❌ Banned Mods (Instant Punishment)

Any mod in this category gives an unfair advantage by revealing hidden information or automating gameplay. Use of any of these is grounds for an immediate ban, with no warning for repeat offenders.

X-Ray & Ore Finders

X-Ray makes stone transparent so you can see every ore — instantly bannable X-Ray texture packs and mods reveal every ore through solid stone. Permanent ban, first offense.

Ore highlighters outline diamonds, redstone, and gold through walls "Ore Highlighter" / "Cave Finder" mods do the same thing with a different name — still banned.

  • X-Ray resource packs (any pack making stone transparent)
  • X-Ray mods (XRay Ultimate, Advanced XRay, etc.)
  • Cave Finder / Ore Highlighter / Vein Miner with reveal
  • Any mod that makes blocks transparent or outlines ores

Detection: CoreProtect logs straight-line tunneling directly to ore veins. We will check. We will catch you.

Player Tracers, ESP & Radar

Player highlighter mods outline players through walls "Highlighter" mods that outline players (red/green friend-or-foe) are banned — this is ESP/wallhack.

Tracer mods showing player silhouettes through solid blocks Seeing player outlines through stone walls = wallhack. Banned in PvP and survival.

Mods that draw entity hitboxes through walls to "track" players Entity-tracer mods (the white outline boxes around players) are banned even if used "just for finding friends."

  • Player ESP / Wallhack / Tracers
  • Entity radar (mini-map mods that show players or mobs as dots)
  • Mob radar / spawn finders
  • Chest ESP / Item ESP
  • Coordinate exploit mods that reveal other players' positions

Combat & Movement Hacks

  • Killaura / Aimbot — auto-attacks players in range
  • Reach hacks — extends attack/place range
  • Crit hacks / Velocity / Anti-Knockback
  • Fly / NoFall / Spider / Step — vertical/horizontal cheats
  • Speed / Sprint / Sneak bypass
  • Auto-clickers (mouse macros that spam click for you)
  • Auto-totem / Auto-armor / Auto-soup
  • Scaffold / Tower (auto-bridging)

Automation & Macros

  • AFK fishing macros, auto-farms, auto-mine bots
  • Mouse/keyboard macros that perform multiple in-game actions per keypress
  • Chat spam scripts
  • Any "Baritone"-style pathfinding bot for movement, mining, or building

Information Exploits

  • Seed crackers / chunk-base style ore mappers used on the live server
  • Server-side memory readers
  • Packet manipulation tools (NoCom-style, etc.)

⚠️ Gray Area — Ask First

These aren't outright banned, but check with a moderator before using:

  • Mini-maps with cave mode disabled — usually fine, but turn off entity radar
  • Schematica / Litematica printer mode disabled — fine for planning builds, banned if it auto-places blocks
  • Macro mods bound to single keystrokes (e.g. one key = one chat message) — usually OK
  • Mods that modify the HUD — fine as long as no hidden info is revealed
  • Damage indicators / armor HUDs — generally allowed

If you're unsure, post in #mod-questions on Discord with the mod name and a link. A moderator will give you a yes/no within a day.

🔍 How We Detect Cheaters

We don't rely on guesswork. The server runs multiple anti-cheat systems and logs everything:

  • CoreProtect logs every block break/place with timestamp + coordinates — perfect-line tunneling to diamonds is obvious
  • Anti-cheat plugins flag impossible movement, reach, and click patterns
  • Staff screen shares can be requested via Discord ticket if a player is suspected
  • Player reports + replay footage — record suspicious players and submit clips in #reports

False reports waste staff time but won't get you in trouble. Cheating will.

📋 Punishment Scale

Offense First Time Repeat
X-Ray (mod or pack) Permanent ban
Killaura / Aimbot Permanent ban
Fly / Movement hacks 7-day ban, gear wipe Permanent ban
ESP / Tracers / Radar 3-day ban + warning Permanent ban
Auto-clicker (afk farms) 1-day ban + item removal 7-day ban
Schematica printer Warning + build removal 3-day ban

All bans are appealable in #ban-appeals on Discord. Be honest — staff have the logs.

🛡️ Want to Stay Safe?

Stick to the Allowed list. If a mod isn't there and isn't on the banned list either, ask before installing. The community is better when everyone competes on the same playing field — that's the whole point of LibertyCraft.
